Muhammad Hamza Shahbaz Sharif

Mian Muhammad Hamza Shahbaz (Urdu, Punjabi: ; born 6 September 1973) is a Pakistani politician, who was the Leader of the Opposition in the Provincial Assembly of Punjab, in office since 20 October 2022. He also served in this position from September 2018 to April 2022. He was also the Chief Minister of Punjab from 30 April 2022 to 02 May 2022. He had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab from August 2018 till January 2023. Previously, he was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from June 2008 to May 2018. He is the eldest son of former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Early and personal life Hamza was born on 6 September 1973 to Shehbaz Sharif. His mother, Begum Nusrat, is Shehbaz Sharif's cousin and his first wife, whom he married in 1973. Shehbaz Sharif later married writer Tehmina Durrani in 2003. Hamza has a younger sister, Rabia Imran, and a younger brother, Suleman Shahbaz, the former CEO of Sharif Group. Following his undergraduate education at the Government College, Lahore he obtained his LLB (Honours) from the London School of Economics. He is a businessman by profession and is known as 'Poultry King of Punjab'. He ran the family business when his family was in exile.
