Indian 2

Indian 2 is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language vigilante action film written and directed by S. Shankar and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah and Udhayanidhi Stalin through Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies. A sequel to the 1996 film Indian, the film stars Kamal Haasan who is reprising his role as Senapathy / Indian, an old freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption and crimes. An ensemble cast featuring Siddharth, S. J. Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, Vennela Kishore and Deepa Shankar play supporting roles. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography handled by Ravi Varman and Rathnavelu and edited by A. Sreekar Prasad. Shankar initially planned for a sequel to Indian in May 2015, and the film was officially announced in late-September 2017 with Dil Raju as the producer, but transferred the rights to Lyca Productions citing the expensive production budget. Principal photography began in January 2019 and took place in Chennai, Rajahmundry, Bhopal, Gwalior. The shooting was halted following an accident on the sets in February 2020, leading to death of few crew members. Since then, production has been suspended owing to numerous factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic, cost overruns and legal disputes, before resuming in August 2022 with Red Giant Movies joining as co-producer. It was further shot in Tirupati and Chennai, while few sequences filmed at Johannesburg and Taiwan. Cast Production
