KKR agreed to pay $250 million to settle a U.S. DOJ civil antitrust case alleging repeated failures to file premerger notices and document omissions across at least 16 transactions, the largest penalty for Hart-Scott-Rodino violations. Surgery Partners, in partnership with Intermountain Health, has placed into escrow agreements to sell its Idaho Falls hospital interests and Mountain View Hospital to Intermountain for about $1.15 billion, with Surgery Partners receiving roughly $795 million subject to adjustments. Completion hinges on physician approvals, regulatory clearances, and other closing conditions, and physician ownership at Mountain View Hospital will remain unchanged as the company continues its portfolio shift toward ambulatory surgery centers.
