Graphic Video Shows Leftist Influencer Disparaging America And The Constitution

A resurfaced video involving left-wing streamer Hasan Piker is drawing renewed attention as Michigan’s U.S. Senate race puts Democrat Abdul El-Sayed’s political associations under a brighter spotlight.

El-Sayed is running against Republican Mike Rogers, and one of the issues Republicans are likely to emphasize is his relationship with Piker, a popular online personality known for provocative political commentary and an openly socialist worldview.

Piker built a large following through online streaming after previously working with The Young Turks, the progressive media company co-founded by his uncle, Cenk Uygur. Over the years, Piker has become one of the most recognizable political figures on Twitch and other online platforms, particularly among younger left-wing audiences.

He has also developed a reputation for making deliberately inflammatory remarks, and one older clip now circulating again shows exactly why he remains such a controversial figure.

The footage contains extremely vulgar language, but the substance of Piker’s remarks is clear. While discussing the Constitution, he dismissed the document in crude terms and said he would use it as toilet paper.

“I wipe my a– with the Constitution,” Piker said in the clip, before referring to it as nothing more than “a piece of paper.”

He went even further, using an obscenity toward both the Constitution and the United States.

Those comments have resurfaced as Piker receives another wave of media attention. The video was recently shared on X in response to a Rolling Stone article examining why Piker has become such a polarizing force in American political media.

For El-Sayed, the problem is not simply that Piker says outrageous things on the internet. Republicans can point to their political association and ask whether a candidate for the United States Senate should be comfortable appearing alongside or maintaining ties with someone who has spoken so contemptuously about the country’s founding document.

That question is especially potent because Piker is not an obscure activist with a tiny audience. He commands a large online following, earns substantial money through streaming, and has become an influential figure within a younger generation of progressive politics.

Supporters may argue that appearing with or associating with a media personality does not mean endorsing every statement that person has ever made. That is a fair distinction. Political candidates regularly appear with people whose views differ from their own.

Still, the nature of Piker’s comments makes the association politically difficult to ignore.

The Constitution is not simply another policy document. It establishes the basic framework of the American government and remains at the center of political debates over individual rights, federal power, elections, criminal justice, free speech, and the separation of powers. A public figure crudely dismissing it is naturally going to provoke a strong reaction, especially when that person is connected to a candidate seeking one of the highest elected offices in the country.

Democratic presidents such as John F. Kennedy and Jimmy Carter operated in a political environment where overt contempt for American institutions would have been far more difficult for a nationally prominent political ally to survive. Today, provocative online personalities can build enormous audiences precisely because confrontation and outrage are often rewarded.
