Clancy Trial: New Testimony on Killings and Mental Health
In the Lindsay Clancy murder trial, Dr. Avram Mack testified that Clancy described hearing a male voice urging the killings and repeatedly saying "Go with God" as she strangled her three children before attempting suicide. Mack testified that, despite these statements, Clancy retained the capacity to be held criminally responsible at the time. The defense rested after testimony from forensic psychiatrist Dr. Phillip Resnick, whose work is linked to Clancy’s defense, with Resnick’s scheduled testimony briefly delayed by a technical issue. Outside the courtroom, supporters in pink gathered to show solidarity as discussions of postpartum psychosis and broader perinatal mental health continued. The broader context notes that perinatal mood disorders affect many new or expectant mothers and highlight the need for accessible mental health care. Jurors have been sent home on several days as Clancy, who remains wheelchair-bound after a fall from a window, pleads not guilty while acknowledging the killings.
