U.S. crypto sector to contribute $55B by 2026
A new joint analysis by the National Cryptocurrency Association and the Pragmatic Policy Group finds that the U.S. crypto sector directly employs about 34,000 people, with a broader footprint totaling roughly 232,000 jobs when including suppliers and household spending. The report projects the industry will contribute about $55 billion to the U.S. economy in 2026. It also notes an average crypto salary of about $133,000, well above the national median wage of $64,000 and higher than the tech and manufacturing sectors. The model used suggests that for every direct crypto job, roughly six additional jobs are supported elsewhere in the economy. Geographic concentration is evident, with California, New York, and Texas accounting for about 60% of crypto jobs, while heartland states collectively hold around 17,000 positions. Colorado and North Dakota are highlighted as rising hubs due to favorable policies and local industry activity.
