Sundance Mountain Resort plans 100 acres, high-speed lift 2026/27
Sundance Mountain Resort is expanding its skiable terrain for the 2026/2027 season with more than 100 acres added and a new high-speed Electric Horseman quad lift, increasing total area to 605 acres and improving uphill capacity to reduce lift lines. The centerpiece of the expansion is the Electric Horseman lift, which climbs over 1,850 vertical feet in about six minutes and provides direct access to the back mountain, enabling longer, more efficient ski laps. A new 1.7-mile ridge run called Storyteller will sit along the ridgeline, replacing the Far East Ridgeline and offering intermediate to advanced terrain along a scenic route with three new expert gladed chutes. The project represents the first phase of Sundance’s back mountain development and is expected to pave the way for additional expert terrain in the coming years. The resort has framed these upgrades as part of a broader push to ease congestion, improve guest experience, and diversify offerings for winter travelers. Previous related improvements, such as the Outlaw Express and other lift additions, are noted as milestones in Sundance’s ongoing infrastructure upgrades.
