Kane Named Germany Player of the Year 2026
Harry Kane was voted Germany’s player of the year for 2026, becoming the first Englishman to win the honor. The Bayern Munich striker scored 61 goals across all competitions last season as Bayern defended the Bundesliga, won the German Cup, and reached the Champions League semi-finals, including a hat trick in the German Cup final and a German Super Cup win. He led the balloting with 272 votes to Michael Olise's 203 among the associations of German sports journalists. Bayern teammate Vincent Kompany was named coach of the year, while Giulia Gwinn won the women's award for Bayern. Kane is among the favorites for the Ballon d'Or, which could make him the second English player to win it while representing a German club. The award comes as England reached the World Cup semi-finals and Bayern continued to collect major domestic hardware.
