Wings' Azzi Fudd Season-Ending Knee Surgery
Azzi Fudd will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after an arthroscopic procedure on her right knee. She last played Aug. 5 and has sat out five straight games as Dallas slides in the playoff race. In her rookie year, Fudd averaged 13.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.73 steals and 0.83 blocks in 31.7 minutes, leading all Wings rookies in steals and ranking among the leaders in scoring and three-pointers. The Wings have leaned on her as a centerpiece, but guard Odyssey Sims is expected to start the remainder of the season as Dallas fights to secure a final playoff seed. Fudd previously gained attention by winning the WNBA 3-Point Contest during All-Star Weekend, underscoring her two-way impact. The development comes as Dallas battles to remain relevant in a tightly contested playoff race, with the season-ending surgery potentially affecting their postseason plans.
