Sandoz Henlius Expand Biosimilars Alliance to Ten Assets
Shanghai Henlius Biotech and Sandoz announced a strategic collaboration to develop and commercialize up to 10 monoclonal antibody and antibody-drug conjugate biosimilars, with Henlius handling development and manufacturing and Sandoz gaining exclusive commercialization rights outside China. The initial bundle includes cetuximab, evolocumab, belimumab biosimilars, with an option for an additional asset and an initial three products already agreed. The deal is milestone-based, potentially totaling up to 322 million, with invoiced amounts in 2026 expected to reach as much as 100.5 million. The arrangement deepens their existing oncology biosimilars partnership and expands Sandoz's pipeline from 39 to as many as 46 assets. The collaboration aims to address high-burden diseases and broaden patient access to cost-effective biologics amid looming biosimilar loss-of-exclusivity over the next decade. The deal reinforces Henlius as a key upstream supplier while Sandoz strengthens its global biosimilar footprint and market leadership.
