Renaissance Slashes Micron Stake by $486 Million
Multiple institutional investors adjusted their Micron Technology holdings in Q2 2026. Summit Global Investments cut its MU stake by 68.5%, selling over 15,600 shares to leave about 7,200 in its portfolio; Central Bank & Trust Co. reduced its MU holdings by 11.9%, while Valliance Asset Management Ltd markedly boosted its position, purchasing over 151,000 shares to own 163,980 in total. Other donors to MU’s ownership mix included Ramsey Quantitative Systems adding a small stake, Signature Resources Capital Management expanding by 45 shares, and Davis Capital Management lifting its position, with several funds reporting minor increases. On the leadership and trading side, Micron EVP Sumit Sadana sold 15,000 shares, decreasing his stake by about 7.28% and leaving him with a substantial remaining holding. Notably, Renaissance Technologies slashed its MU stake by roughly $486 million, trimming from over 2.16 million shares valued at approximately $730.7 million to about 211,580 shares worth $244.2 million, signaling a shift in quant-driven positioning after Micron’s price run to new highs. Overall, MU’s share activity reflects a mix of profit-taking by some large managers and strategic reallocation by others amid a backdrop of strong recent performance for the stock.
