Pacers waive Taelon Peter after season
The Indiana Pacers waived Taelon Peter, the 54th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, after his rookie season in which he played 38 NBA games. Peter remained on a two-way contract, splitting time between Indiana and the Noblesville Boom in the G League, posting 4.5 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 12.9 minutes per game. In Summer League, he averaged 10.4 points per game with solid shooting but turnover issues, reflecting mixed impact. The move reduces the Pacers’ two-way contract competition to four players: Purdue guard Braden Smith, Kobe Brown, Jalen Slawson, and Ethan Thompson. Brown and Thompson have both solidified two-way deals, while Slawson emerged as a standout scorer in Summer League, leaving Peter as the odd man out. Peter will look to sign with another team ahead of training camp.
