Odisha AI hub as HCLTech plans 6,000 jobs
HCLTech, in partnership with Sarvam AI and the Odisha government, has announced a landmark investment of ₹14,257 crore to establish an AI Data Centre in Odisha’s Sovereign AI Park and a two‑phase AI and Digital Engineering Global Delivery Centre in Bhubaneswar. The projects are described as the first of their kind in India and are expected to position Odisha as a leading sovereign AI hub while boosting India’s AI ecosystem. The initiatives aim to create more than 5,000 direct jobs at the Global Delivery Centre and over 6,000 direct skilled jobs from the broader program, with additional indirect employment across the tech sector. Odisha officials, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, say the investments will strengthen the state's IT and AI ecosystem, attract global capability centers, and advance the Purvodaya vision. HCLTech and its partners emphasize building future-ready AI talent and expanding local engineering skills to sustain long-term growth in the state’s technology landscape.
