NH Investment & Securities Reports Record H1 Profit
NH Investment & Securities reported record or near-record quarterly results as a buoyant domestic stock market supported growth across all divisions, including brokerage, financial products, and investment banking. In the second quarter, operating profit rose about 111.6% year over year to roughly 681.2 billion won, with net profit up around 90% to about 489.4–489.6 billion won, and first-half net profit totaling 965.2 billion won, up about 107.6%. First-half operating revenue climbed 89% to roughly 2.26 trillion won, with an annualized ROE of 19.0%. Brokerage income led the gains, with first-half fee revenue at 795 billion won and second-quarter brokerage fee income of 445.6 billion won, supported by a rise in domestic equity trading and a 0.7 percentage-point gain in market share; overseas equity also posted strong growth. The firm attributed results to expanding its customer base across all fronts and strengthening its digital and global trading infrastructure amid market volatility, with wealth management assets and client counts continuing to grow.
