Kyle Asman launches Build With Conviction pledge
Kyle Asman, founder of Backswing Ventures, has launched the Build With Conviction Personal Pledge in Orlando to urge entrepreneurs, professionals, students, and aspiring business leaders to adopt long-term discipline, resilience, and continuous learning. The pledge reflects lessons from his banking, entrepreneurship, and venture capital career, including building funds during times of uncertainty since founding Backswing Ventures in 2020. He notes that many abandon good ideas too early and argues that lasting success comes from consistent effort and sticking to one’s convictions when circumstances are hard. The initiative cites troubling industry statistics—nearly 49% of entrepreneurs report burnout, about 87% face at least one mental health challenge, and roughly 90% of startups fail due to execution, market fit, or capital constraints—and emphasizes writing down goals as a predictor of follow-through. The program frames the pledge as a public commitment to replace short-term thinking with durable habits, aiming to engage a broad audience of current and aspiring business leaders. It underscores that success is measured by progress toward clearly defined goals rather than a single moment, reinforcing the value of daily learning from each investment decision.
