Israeli drone strike injures one near Beit Jinn
Israeli drone strikes targeted a vehicle in Beit Jinn and nearby Beit Jann in southwestern Syria, injuring at least one person as tensions along the Israeli-Syrian border escalate. Syrian state television and other outlets reported the attack, with the Israeli military saying it was checking the reports. The attacks have continued since late 2024 after Syria’s regime change, with Israel conducting hundreds of strikes and expanding its hold in the Golan Heights and the UN-patrolled buffer zone. Beit Jinn’s location is about 35 kilometers southwest of Damascus, near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, amid a broader pattern of incursions and security operations by Israeli forces in southern Syria. Coverage also notes related regional dynamics, including past strikes such as the Abu al-Duhur air base attack and international comments on Syria’s sovereignty and security arrangements.
