Indiana Ballard Certified for Secretary of State Ballot
Greg Ballard, the former Indianapolis mayor, has been officially certified to appear on the November Indiana secretary of state ballot as an independent candidate under the Lincoln Party. The state certified 40,361 valid signatures, above the required threshold of 36,943, though some reports note different pre-certification counts. Ballard said the certification was the result of broad grassroots effort and thanked election staff. He will campaign against Republican Max Engling, Democrat Beau Bayh, and Libertarian Lauri Shillings. The Lincoln Party would become an official party in Indiana if Ballard surpasses 2% of the vote. Ballard's campaign has reported spending about $780,000 on signature collection, a major share of its total spending to date.
