Diamondbacks rout Reds 9-0 as Lawlar shines
Jordan Lawlar powered the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 9-0 rout of the Cincinnati Reds, delivering a two-run homer, a career-high three RBIs, and a three-hit performance to fuel the offense alongside multiple contributors. The outfielder/center fielder also matched his 2026 season highlight reel with a late-career surge after returning from a hamstring injury, and his production helped the D-backs extend their playoff push. Eduardo Rodriguez dominated on the mound with five-plus innings of two-run ball, lowering his ERA and pairing with the bullpen to close out the shutout. Arizona received key support from Geraldo Perdomo, Gabriel Moreno, Tim Tawa, and Corbin Carroll, who combined for additional hits and in Carroll’s case a birthday notable scoring spree and stolen base. Cincinnati’s offense was stifled by a mixture of solid D-backs pitching and aggressive baserunning, including four steals in the first two innings, while Nick Lodolo endured a difficult start. The win kept Arizona within striking distance of the NL wild-card, aided by Toglia’s injury in the Reds' lineup and the continued strong performances from the D-backs’ rotated leaders.
