AirPods connect to iPad and iPhone through Bluetooth pairing and iCloud synchronization. Initial Setup: Place your AirPods in their charging case, open the case near your iPhone or iPad, and tap "Connect" when the pairing popup appears on your screen. Hold the setup screen until pairing completes.
Connecting to Multiple Devices: Once paired with your primary device through iCloud, your AirPods automatically appear in the Bluetooth settings of all your Apple devices signed in with the same Apple ID. To switch between devices, go to Settings > Bluetooth on your iPhone or iPad, find your AirPods in the list, and tap them to connect. Alternatively, you can swipe down from the top-right corner (iPhone X and later) or up from the bottom (older models) to open Control Center, long-press the audio card, and select your AirPods.
Reconnecting: Your AirPods will automatically reconnect to the last device they were used with when you open the case or put them in your ears. If they don't connect automatically, toggle Bluetooth off and on in Settings, or manually select them from the Bluetooth menu.
Troubleshooting: If your AirPods don't appear in Bluetooth settings, forget them (tap the info icon next to the AirPods listing and select "Forget This Device"), then re-pair them. Ensure both devices have Bluetooth enabled, are signed into the same iCloud account, and are within Bluetooth range (typically 30 feet). Resetting your AirPods by holding the setup button on the case for 15 seconds can resolve persistent connection issues.
