To change audio settings in Microsoft Teams, open the app and select your profile picture in the top right corner, then click "Settings." Navigate to the "Devices" section in the left sidebar, where you'll find "Audio devices." Here you can select your preferred microphone and speaker from the dropdown menus. You can also adjust microphone volume and speaker volume using the sliders provided.
For quick access during a call, click the three dots menu in the call window and select "Device settings" or "Show device settings." This opens the same audio configuration panel without closing your call.
Additional audio options include:
- Microphone settings: Test your microphone, adjust input level, and enable noise suppression or acoustic echo cancellation
- Speaker settings: Test your speaker and adjust output volume
- Default devices: Set which devices Teams uses by default for calls and meetings
- Advanced: Access additional audio processing options
If you're in a Teams meeting and need to change audio quickly, click the microphone icon in the call controls to toggle it on/off, or right-click the microphone icon to select a different microphone from the dropdown menu.
These settings sync across devices if you're signed into the same Teams account, so changes made on one device may appear on others. If audio problems persist after adjusting settings, ensure your devices are properly connected, drivers are updated, and no other applications are monopolizing your audio hardware.
