- Foamed-in-place process: Liquid polyurethane foam is injected between two facing panels held in a fixture; the foam expands and cures in place, simultaneously bonding to both facings and eliminating the need for separate adhesive.
3. Pressing and curing: Whichever method is used, the panel assembly is held under even pressure (via presses, vacuum bags, or clamping systems) for a set curing time to ensure a strong, void-free bond across the entire surface.
4. Sizing and cutting: Large "billets" or master panels are cut down to standard or custom dimensions using computer-controlled saws or routers, which can also cut window/door openings, electrical chases, and edge profiles (like splines or tongue-and-groove edges) for connecting panels on-site.
