Long Island confronts spike in DWI crashes
Several drivers in New York and nearby areas were charged with driving while intoxicated after crashes or driving incidents, including a Losantville man accused of smoking marijuana before a crash that seriously injured another driver, and a Greenport hit-and-run involving a DWI with multiple child passengers. Additional incidents in Hampton Bays and Manorhaven involved officers locating intoxicated drivers or a vehicle crashing into a building, leading to DWI charges.
