SpaceX is planning at least one large Texas data center to deliver about 1 gigawatt of compute, evaluating multiple sites and relocating staff from Memphis as it eyes a scale rivaling its Memphis operation, while also pursuing AI computing deals with Anthropic and Google. Concurrently, the company is building an 11-million-square-foot Gigasat facility in Bastrop to manufacture space-based AI data centers, leveraging solar power for orbiting compute.
