AstraZeneca Ends Phase III Lung Cancer Trial
AstraZeneca reports a setback as its Phase III trial of volrustomig plus chemotherapy in PD-L1 negative metastatic non-small cell lung cancer is halted after an independent data review found it unlikely to meet primary endpoints, while another late-stage study in cervical cancer and other indications continues. In a positive contrast, AZN and partners SAFFRON showed that Tagrisso combined with Orpathys significantly improved progression-free and overall survival, underscoring a mixed near-term outlook but ongoing strength in its immuno-oncology pipeline.
