Union Pacific and Canadian National Railway have signed binding memoranda of understanding to grant CN expanded competitive access and a broader footprint in the Midwest as part of Union Pacific's planned merger with Norfolk Southern, subject to regulatory approval. The agreements include CN access to key facilities, overhead and service rights, and acquisition of Norfolk Southern’s interests in KC Terminal and TRRA, while both companies commit to collaborating through the STB process to implement the merger.
