Oxford Ebola Vaccine Enters Human Trials
Oxford University's ChAdOx1 BDBV vaccine has entered Phase 1 trials in the UK to test safety and immune response against Bundibugyo Ebola, with 50 healthy volunteers and the first participant Ed Hunt, while the Serum Institute of India has stocked roughly 620,000 doses and larger studies could follow in Uganda and the DRC. No licensed vaccine yet exists for Bundibugyo, making this trial a critical step amid the ongoing outbreak, with multiple candidate vaccines in development alongside this effort.
