NV Energy begins issuing $63 million in customer refunds over billing misclassifications
NV Energy has begun issuing more than $63 million in refunds to customers misclassified as part of a settlement with the Nevada Public Utilities Commission and the Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, with credits applied to current bills and checks mailed to former customers. The refunds cover overcharges tied to a decades-long misclassification, dating back to 2002, affecting tens of thousands of accounts and prompting independent reviews to ensure accurate future billing.
