Liverpool FC and Merseyside Police led the first joint operation of its kind against ticket touting, seizing over £1.2m in assets, issuing 432 lifetime bans and 115 indefinite suspensions after analysing nearly 700,000 ticket registrations and blocking tens of thousands of fake accounts. The crackdown, with assets split between Merseyside Police and the Home Office, is part of a broader anti-touting campaign that also saw a rise in burner-phone seizures and resulted in multiple convictions while continuing enforcement at matches and online.
