Texas Case: Surrogate, Parents in Parental-Rights Battle
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has intervened in a Dallas County surrogacy dispute to secure life-saving treatment for unborn baby Gabriel, diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, by asking the court to direct postnatal care, prevent removal from Texas, and expedite a hearing if parents refuse treatment. He also instructed UT Southwestern and Dallas Children’s Medical Center of their duty to treat and to resist any attempts to move the child out of state, even amid the parentage dispute.
