UNESCO has inscribed Aalto Works, a 13-site collection across Finland designed by Alvar, Aino and Elissa Aalto, on the World Heritage List, highlighting their humanistic modernism and contribution to architecture and Finland’s welfare society. The designation, announced at the Busan session, emphasizes five Helsinki sites and is expected to boost tourism and awareness of Finland’s architectural heritage as part of its eight World Heritage sites.
